본 연구에서는 유아교사 양성과정에서의 유아음악교육 과목 수강 경험과 유아음악교육 실제 에서의 수행 정도를 조사하고, 교사를 위한 유아음악교육 프로그램에 대한 요구도를 분석하였 다. 연구 대상은 어린이집 교사들로서 만 3세 이상을 담임하고 있는 만2년 이상의 경력 교사 217명이었다. 현직교사들은 양성과정에서 80% 이상이 유아음악교육을 수강하였으며, 절반에 가 까운 교사들이 현재 유아들을 지도하는데 실제적으로 많은 도움이 되지는 않는다고 답하였다. 음악 활동 수행은 1주일에 2-3회가 절반 이상이었고, 대부분이 담임교사가 지도하는 것으로 나 타났다. 실제 활동은 노래부르기에 지나친 편중 현상을 나타냈으며, 교사들이 가장 어려워하는 영역은 음악적 개념 지도였다. 현직교사를 위한 유아음악교육 프로그램의 구성을 위한 교육목 표․내용․교수방법․운영형태․교육자․장소 등에 대한 요구 조사 결과는 향후 수요자 중심의 맞춤식 교육 프로그램을 개발함에 있어 근거를 제시하고 방향을 설정하는 데 실제적인 자료로서 가치가 있다.
In this research we investigated the course taking experience of early childhood music education in pre-service education of teachers and performance degree of early childhood music education in practice. The need of early childhood music education program for teachers was also analyzed. The subjects in this study were 217 teachers in charge of students aged three and above and with more than 2 years of teaching experience. More than 80 percent of in-service teachers took the course of early childhood education and almost half of them answered that the education was not helpful to teach children in practice. More than half of cases, music activity was performed 2 or 3 per week and almost all cases were conducted by the teachers who were in charge of the class. The overemphasized phenomena of singing were observed in practical activities and in-service teachers were suffered from musical concept teaching. The need investigation results of education goals, contents, teaching methods, the types of management, educators, and places to compose the early childhood education program for in-service teachers were worth as the practical data which can show the basis to develop the user-oriented customized education program and set up the direction for the future.
