With several recent occurrences of mass disaster in Korea, systematic and evidence-based psychosocial intervention models for adolescents have become increasingly needed in the process of recovery and in preventing posttraumatic stress symptoms. For the purpose of suggesting an effective psychosocial intervention model for disaster-affected adolescents in the future, we began with collecting and critically analyzing the existing literature related to the topic. We limited our literature search to those publications and findings from 1980 to 2012 by using the academic databases and the websites of institutes and academic community that focus on disaster and trauma. Based on such literature review, we summarized the following four domains that appear to most important in disaster intervention for adolescents; (a) the coping and recovery of the community, (b) the role of parents and family, (c) school-based interventions, and (d) trauma counseling at the individual level.
