본 연구는 부모의 양육태도 중 거절 및 통제와 부모의 양육스트레스가 아동의 우울에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 지방의 중소도시에 있는 초등학생과 그들의 주양육자 200명 을 대상으로 수용-거절척도, 통제척도, 부모양육스트레스검사로 구성된 설문조사를 실시하였고, 최종분석 에 사용된 사례는 178건이었다. 자료 분석 결과, 부모의 애정.온정 수준이 낮을수록, 그리고 공격.적대 감, 방임.무관심, 및 미분화 거절 수준이 높을수록 아동이 우울하게 느끼는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 통제 가 보통수준이라고 아동이 지각하였을 경우에 비해 너무 적거나 높다고 지각된 경우 아동의 우울점수가 유의미하게 높게 나타났다. 아동의 우울수준을 예측하는 변인을 탐색하기 위한 단계적 회귀분석 결과 노 골적인 거절을 의미하는 미분화된 거절과 부모가 자녀에게 느끼는 애착의 정도가 아동의 우울점수를 유 의미하게 예측해주는 요인인 것으로 나타났다(총 설명량= 19.5%). 우울과 미분화된 거절을 예측해주는 변인 탐색을 위한 단계적 회귀분석에서는 부모의 우울감이 미분화된 거절(설명량= 3%)과 애착(설명량= 32%)을 유의미하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 점들은 부모가 양육과정에서 경험하는 우울감이 거절적인 양육태도를 유발함과 동시에 부모가 아동에게 느끼는 애착정도의 감소를 유발하며, 결과적으로 아동의 우울 취약성을 증가시킴을 시사한다. 이러한 결과를 종합하여 연구의 시사점과 의의, 제한점, 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언에 대해 논의하였다.
The purpose of this research was to examine the effect of parents’ rejection behaviors, control behaviors, and bleeding stress on children’s depression. Participants were 178 children and their parents who completed self-report inventories measuring parent’s rejection, control, and bleeding stress. As the results, there was negative correlation between children’s depression and parent’s affection/compassion. Children’s depression was positively correlated with parent’s aggression/hostility, neglect/ignore, and indifferential rejection. There was U-curve correlation between children’s depression and parent’s control. That is, children’s depression level was increased when the children perceived their parents over-controlled or under-controlled them. Stepwise multiple regression analysis revealed that indifferential rejection and parent’s attachment to children were significant predictors of children’s depression. And parent’s depression was significant predictor of parent’s rejection and attachment. This result suggests parent’s depression causes rejective attitude and decreases attachment to their children, and parent’s rejection and detachment make their children vulnerable to depression. These findings suggests clinicians or therapist focus on parental depression and rejective and/or control behaviors in order to intervention for children’s depression. Finally, we discussed this research’s limitations and implication for future research.
