This study was conducted by Sand-box play program, total 12times, twice
per week and each experiment lasted for 60minutes, grades 4 to 6 children,
8 experimental groups and the 8 control groups using community child center
to find out how sand-box play affect on self-esteem and self-resilience of
children using community child centers in Pohang City. The quantitative
analysis was conducted before and after the experiment using self-esteem
and self-resilience scale to measure the effect and the qualitative analysis
utilized the data collected from sand-box play program. This experiment
yielded the following results; children who participated in sand-box play
program showed significant improvement on self-esteem and self-resilience
scale when compared to the control group samples. This proves that
sand-box play is effective for improving self-esteem and self-resilience of
children using community child centers.
