본 연구는 2012년 한국과학창의재단에서 선정한 STEAM 교사 연구회의 활동을 토대로 수행되었 다. 현장의 교사들의 전문성 함양을 지원하여 ‘즐겁게’ 참여할 수 있는 스토리텔링 교육연극 기반 융합인재교육(STEAM) 프로그램을 개발하고 적용한 후, 개발된 프로그램이 학생들의 과학적 태도 향상에 긍정적인 효과를 보이고 있는지를 검증하였다. 프로그램의 실시 전.후를 대응표본 t-test 한 결과 세 학년(2,4,6) 모두 과학적 태도의 7개 하위 영역에서 유의미하게 상승한 것으로 나타났다. 그 중에서도 창의성 영역이 다른 영역보다 0.55점으로 가장 많이 상승하였고, 협동성(0.47), 개방성 (0.45) 순으로 상승한 반면, 비판성과 끈기성은 각각 0.37, 0.39점으로 상대적으로 낮은 상승수준을 보였다. 결론적으로 스토리텔링 교육연극 기반 STEAM 교육 프로그램이 초등학교 학생들이 '즐겁게' 참여할 뿐만 아니라, ‘학습자 특성’에 부합하는 신개념의 ‘효율적’ STEAM 교육 프로그램으로 써 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.
This study was performed based on activity of STEAM(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) teachers' research council, which was selected by KOFAC in 2012. It developed and applied STEAM program based on the storytelling educational drama available for being participated 'happily' by supporting the promotion in field teachers' professionalism, and then verified whether the developed program is showing positive effect on enhancement in students' scientific attitude. As a result of paired sample t-test before and after carrying out program, all of three(2,4,6) school years were indicated to have grown significantly in 7 sub-spheres of scientific attitude. Even out of it, the creativity sphere climbed the most with 0.55 point compared to other spheres. It increased in order of cooperative attitude(0.47) and openness(0.45). On the other hand, criticality and tenacity stood at 0.37 and 0.39 point, respectively, thereby having indicated relatively low increase level. In conclusion, the STEAM educational program based on storytelling educational drama was confirmed to be possibly utilized as 'efficient' STEAM educational program in new concept, which conforms with 'learners' characteristics,' as well as elementary school students' 'happy' participation.
