This treatise is on the reception of Chinese Philosophy during the time of european Enlightenment. The chinese philosophy was very actual problem for the thinkers of the Enlightenment and politicians around Louis XIV. Through the rites affair over a hundred years the european thinkers take an interest in the chinese philosophy and culture. The rites affair was traced back to the different opinions on the chinese culture and philosophy between Matteo Ricci and his successor, Nicholas Longobardi. The rites affair gave rise to a dispute about the chinese philosophy between the european thinkers like P. Bayle, N. Malebranche and Leibniz. This treatise shows their different understanding of the chinese philosophy and their philosophical positions and interests. It shows also the different reasons and interests of the thinkers of the french Enlightenment to the reception of the chinese philosophy. In order to understand reasons why they were so enthusiastic for the chinese Philosophy and why the fever of chinese philosophy was disappeared so fast, this treatise tried to explain the ideological, political backgrounds of the reception of the chinese philosophy during the time of the Enlightenment.
