The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of inquiry oriented
measurement activities on young children's spatial ability. In this study, for the
investigate on the young children's spatial ability was applied to measurement
activities based inquiry-oriented teaching-learning method such as question-raising,
strategy-exploring, practicing, result-sharing and strategy -reconsidering.
In this study, twenty five-year-old children in a kindergarten as an experimental
group participated in inquiry-oriented measurement activities and twenty five-year-old
children in a kindergarten as an controlled group participated in dairy activities.
As the results, spatial activities based on inquiry-oriented measurement activities
contributed significantly to the improvement of young children's spatial ability.
