This study aims on designing and implementing mind-healing program that focuses on assisting of
Psychological Conflict for adolescent. The study utilizes the Bonny Method of GMI(Guided Imagery and
Music) for subjects to explore adolescent own inner world to target subjects’ significant life issues. The
study used musical excerpts of Tchaikovsky's ballet suite “the Nutcracker” as the selection of musical
content and series of questionnaires and activities were developed in relation to the musical content.
The participating subjects were fifty college freshmen students Jeonlabukdo 1. University. The duration
of designed study was 2012 March, 5-May, 18, interacting with the subjects once a week for eight
consecutive weeks. To measure the effectiveness of the program, both pre and post emotional intelligence
surveys were conducted. The results show that sub-factors of emotional intelligence, emotional awareness,
emotional expression, empathy, emotion regulation, and emotional intelligence, emotional utilization have
improved than respectively. therefore, mind healing program through theory of mind and Music for
adolescent is improving one’s psychological state at large. Thus, intervention of well-designed music therapy
program at the tender age may lead to improvements in targeted subject’s behaviors.
