Men and the environment are inseparably related to each other. This
connection to environment has a great effect on human life. Nature has a
significance as an important environment related to human life. Artistic activity
through nature is also related to life and has a significance that needs relating
activity with the nature. Activity in the nature, however, can have a significance
when it is perceived as ‘situation' in artistic activity by learners. The learning
situation enables the development of positive activity that is related to the
learner's existence and influence when it is perceived as a concrete situation of
mind that something comes into and has a relation(situation the learner perceives).
This is based on Dewey's Theory of situation. Dewey's ‘concept of situation'
brings the necessity and importance of perceiving the real human life into relief
and has an important educational suggestion. Cognitive activity of relation is
related to aesthetical experience. Reasoning activity in context to solve the
problematic situation relating to personal life related to what enables the formation
of a meaningful knowledge as well as aesthetical experience. To perceive the
situation of artistic activity in the nature enables the activity of quest accompanying
a significant behavior. It also contains various experiences of attempt and aesthetical
experience through reflective thought. Learning situation of arts should not remain
at just judging the situation, but place more weight on understanding the horizontal
and win-win relation with the nature by cognitive activity through situation.
This study groped for a practical plan of nature experiencing artistic activity
based on Dewey's theory of situation. This is expected to be a moment of
perceiving that arts is not separated from human life and its ground. The
aesthetical experience through artistic activity in the nature might also enable the
natural perception and discovery of arts, nature and the arts as nature and life.
