In order for an art education in the 21st century socio-cultural environment to
accept new visual cultures and art phenomena, and realize them in the education,
it would be needed to escape from the present expression-oriented art education, and
utilize the art education in understanding not only the new art phenomena and visual
cultures, but also the overall of lives. According to the necessity, this study aims, based
on the contents and system of the 2007 revised national curriculum which accepted
the 21C socio-cultural environment, to understand the 21C art through the sublime
and simulacre aesthetics, which can explain the overall of the 21C society and culture, and
suggest new way of art education on the new educational ground of visual culture and art.
Thus, this study attempted to propose the contents of education based on the
sublime and simulacreas astrategy of the 21C art education by integrating both
concepts organically with the contents-system of the 2007 revised national curriculum,
and based on this, suggested several educational aspects required to classify and
understand the 21C art via the sublime and simulacre aesthetics. Also, according
to the aspects, by selecting and organizing the contents closely related to the new
curriculum, and integrating them with the contents-systemas well, it attempted to
construct new contents of education and develop its appropriate program.
This study is a philosophical argument for the successful development and
utilization of art text books in the various a spects related to the development of
authorized art text books according to the compilation plan by the 2007 revised
national curriculum, and the value of this study will be realized through the development
of effective programs and the directon-site inspection. The researcher would ceaselessly
have to review, modify, and transform this study to develop more sophisticated
and systematic contents of education.
