Few would dispute that children are not only different in developmental levels but also in respect of their cultural backgrounds. Their cultural backgrounds not only affect their lives, but also the way they perceive their world. Children represent or reproduce the world in many ways, one of which is through art. With the make-up of classrooms becoming increasingly muitioulturs, teachers are continually , confronted with differences in learning styes, abilities, and outcomes displayed by their students. Art teachers and art students are no exception. One particular group which has been attracting amention in respect to learning outcomes, originates in Southeast Asia, but has lately, as a result of immigration, been accommodated by several countries around the Pacific Rim.
