본 연구는 어머니가 지각하는 사회적 지원 및 스트레스와 아동의 기질이 어머니의 양육효능감에 미치는 영향과 그 과정을 살펴보는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 본 연구는 서울 소재 3개 초등학교 5, 6학년 아동의 어머니 416명을 대상으로 하였다. 연구 결과 어머니의 양육효능감은 어머니의 사회적 지원, 아동의 기질과 유의한 정적 상관이 있으며, 어머니의 스트레스와는 유의한 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 사회적 지원의 하위 영역인 남편의 협력과 주위의 도움은 양육효능감 모든 하위영역과 높은 정적 상관을 보였다. 중다회귀분석 결과 어머니의 양육효능감을 설명하는 가장 유의한 변인은 어머니의 사회적 지원이었고, 아동의 기질도 유의한 변인이었다. 사회적 지원의 하위 영역인 남편의 협력과 주위의 도움은 양육효능감의 모든 하위영역에 유의하게 영향을 미치는 변인이었으며, 특히 남편의 협력은 양육효능감의 모든 하위 영역에 가장 크게 영향을 미치는 변인이었다. 구조방정식 분석 결과 어머니의 사회적 지원은 양육효능감에 직접적으로 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 변인인 것으로 나타났다. 아동의 기질은 양육효능감에 직접적인 영향과 함께 사회적 지원을 통한 간접적인 영향도 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 어머니의 스트레스는 사회적 지원을 통한 간접적인 영향력만 가지는 것으로 나타났다.
This study investigated the effects of mothers\' perceived social support, stress, and children\'s temperament on mothers\' parenting self-efficacy among 416 Korean mothers living in Seoul Korea. Results showed that mothers\' parenting self-efficacy was positively related to mothers\' perceived social support and children\'s temperament. On the other hand, mothers\' parenting self-efficacy was negatively related to mothers\' stress. Support from husband and social support from network of social support was positively related to five each subscale of parenting self-efficacy. Multiple regression indicated that mothers\' perceived social support was the best predictor for mothers\' parenting self-efficacy. Children\'s temperament was the significant predicator for mothers\' parenting self-efficacy. Support from husband and support form network of social support were the best predictors for five each subscale of mothers\' parenting self-efficacy. Structural equation model showed that mothers\' perceived social support was a significant mediator of the relation between children\'s temperament and mothers\' stress and parenting self-efficacy. Also children\'s temperament had direct and indirect effect on mothers\' parenting self-efficacy.
