This research has been commenced to develop a leisure education program targeting college students who
are preliminary teachers. In order to achieve such purpose, such education program has been developed
through investigation on consumer characteristics and interviews on the students of ‘C’ university of
education, as well as the experts’ conferences. First, such program was conducted with the subject of leisure
and happiness in the daily life, and in order to explore such subject, a survey was conducted with 153
students at ‘C’ university of education. Such survey was fulfilled as each student records series of episodes
occurred on the previous day through the retrospection, and experience of happiness for each episode was
measured. As the result, most frequent activities were shown as eating, taking a class, taking a test, and
social activity in order. Then, it showed that happiness was experienced at the highest level in the leisure
activity. Also, it showed that students mostly experience positive emotion in the category of leisure activity,
but experience negative emotion in class and studying activity. Based on this result, the leisure education
program has been organized with the categories of leisure understanding, experience of immersion, experience
of enjoyment and signification. The direction of the program was selected with the measure of sharing the
physical education class during the school life. Then, the program was mainly set to be experience oriented,
and to be fulfilled to learn knowledge and understanding field related to leisure through activity logs and
materials. It is necessary to extend such leisure education program developed as targeting college students
who are preliminary teachers to other subjects with more supplementation and application.
