In this paper, I tried to explain the literary education based on the cultural theory. Literary phenomenon is not an object of cognition but it is a kind of cultural praxis. In this context in want to include the perception of literature and also the creation or production of literature. In this view point, literary education would be conceptualized as this; Literary education is a series of process designed and practised to become the learner to percept the literature and to produce and reproduce it. To establish above the scheme, I tried to explain the literature is a kind of cultural phenomena. Additionally, I explained that the literary education also is a kind of cultural phenomena. This viewpoint shall be illustrated to understand the culture in the context of cultural sociology. In the cultural perspective of literary education, it is able to design the literary education to be the production of literature and the culture. The understanding of literature as reading, it is a production of meaning, and it is a kind of cultural hermeneutics of literature. If we are free from the obsession of quality of them, the works that the learners’ talks and writings will be the works of literature. In the course, the learners will be established as cultural creating subjects. I proposed in the paper that the studies on literary education must based on the cultural theories, they means the symbolic interaction praxis.
