이 연구는 체육교수 맥락에서 바라본 초등교사의 체육수업에 대한 주변화와 중심화 현상을 탐색하 는데 목적이 있었다. 이를 위해 수도권 소재의 K초등학교 5학년 체육수업을 진행하는 2명의 교사를 연구참여자로 선정하였고, 2014년 3월 10일부터 2014년 7월 10일까지 1학기 동안 학생들의 수업과 수업 후의 활동에 대해 참여관찰과 인터뷰를 토대로 자료를 수집하였다. 본 연구에서 교사의 체육 교수 맥락에서 본 주변화와 중심화의 현상을 분석하기 위해 수집된 참여관찰과 인터뷰의 내용을 Spradley(1979)가 제안한 영역 분석과 분류 분석을 토대로 자료를 분석하였다. 주변화와 중심화의 논 리에서 가장 중요한 위치를 선점하고 있는 것은 교사의 인식, 신체활동 프로그램의 선정과 활용 그 리고 시설 활용 측면 등이 도출되었다. 무엇보다 초등 체육수업에서의 주변화와 중심화의 논리는 교사의 인식, 신체활동 프로그램의 선정 및 활용, 시설활용이 분리되어 나타나는 것이 아니라 종합 적으로 고려될 때, 체육수업의 질을 높이는 동인이 될 수 있음을 확인하였다. 각각의 측면에서 교사 가 중심화와 주변화의 논리로 잘 할 수 있는 것과 잘 하지 못하는 것, 활용할 수 있는 것과 활용하 기에 어려움이 따르는 것 등 교사 자신이 할 수 있는 부분이나 교사가 위치한 곳에서 가까운 것을 중심에 두고, 그 밖의 것을 주변으로 위치시키는 경향을 보였다.
The purpose of this study is exploring the phenomenon of the margination and centralization of the physical education teachers. To achieve this, two physical education teachers had been selected as research participants and the data was collected from them by executing the participant observation, and also interview in March 10 to July 10 2014, which is for a semester. In this study, to analysis the collected data, the domain and taxonomic analysis suggested by Spradley(1979) were used. Studying the result of research, the most crucial points in the logic of the margination and centralization of the teacher are their perspectives, the selection of physical activity program, and also practical use for the facilities. Most of all, as these factors are considered synthetically, the logic of the margination and centralization could be the motive for higher quality of physical education class. On each side, the participants intended to centralize what they can do or utilize well, and to marginalize what they can not do or utilize well.
