본 연구는 영아의 사회성 증진을 위한 프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 연구에 참여한 영아는 2002년부터 2004년까지 종단적 영아 발달 연구에 참여한 450명 중 인지, 사회, 언어 영역 점수에서 하위 50%이하에 속하는 120명을 대상으로 했다. 그 중 60명의 영아를 무선적으로 선정하여 실험집단으로 하고 나머지 영아 60명을 통제집단으로 하였다. 영아의 사회성을 증진시키기 위한 프로그램을 개발하여 실험집단에게 2주 간격으로 총 8회 프로그램을 실시하였다. 사전-사후 사회성 증진 프로그램의 효과를 알아보기 위해 어머니와 영아의 자유놀이 상황에서 장난감이 있는 경우 5분과 장난감이 없는 경우 5분을 촬영하였다. 코딩 분석을 통해 사전-사후 어머니-영아 상호작용, 신체접촉, 공동 주의의 변화를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 어머니-영아 상호작용 하위 영역 중 언어적 통제 영역에서 처치 조건과 검사시기에 따른 상호작용 효과가 있었다. 신체접촉 유형 중 부드럽고 동적인 접촉의 경우에는 집단 간 주효과만이 있었으며 공동 주의는 처치 조건과 검사 시기의 상호 작용 효과가 있었다. 위의 연구결과를 종합해 볼 때, 본 연구에서 실시한 사회성 증진 프로그램은 영아의 사회성 발달에 영향을 주었음이 입증되었다.
The purpose of this study was to develop the program for promoting social development and to investigate its effect on mother-infant interaction, touch and joint-attention. 120 Subjects were selected from 450 infants on the basis of their developmental score, who participated at the longitudinal study carried out from 2002 to 2004. Participants were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. Infants and their mothers in experimental group were trained with our 8-session- program for 4 months with the interval of 2 weeks. To investigate the effect of the program, interactions in both groups were observed during pre-test and post-test sessions. The interactions during their free-play situation were measured on the basis of their interaction styles, touch pattern, and the amount of joint attention. The results revealed that our program influenced mother\'s verbal interaction style, the amount of positive touch type and the joint attention. These results indicate that the program facilitated infants\' social development through tapping the important aspects of interaction with their primary care-givers
