본 연구의 목적은 평생교육 프로그램에 참여하는 노인의 임파워먼트 차이를 살펴보고, 임파워먼트에 영향을 미치는 5가지 변인인 자기효능감, 자기존중감, 문제해결력, 대인관계능력, 참여활동을 세분화하여 프로그램별 분석결과를 통해 효과성을 검증하는 것이다. 임파워먼트 효과성과 상관관계가 있는 주요 프로그램은 대인 상호작용을 요하는 댄스 및 노래교실 등으로 구성된 건강증진학과 프로그램으로 확인되었다. 이 연구결과를 바탕으로 임파워먼트 효과성 강화를 위한 사회적 함의 및 실천방안을 제언하였다.
