teachers' self-images emerged from their reflection on the roles in multicultural classrooms were: ( 1) Teachers are advocators for promoting social justice, (2) Teachers are learners of cultural diversity, (3) Teachers are transformers through caring, (4) Teachers are supporters for children's emotional and social needs, and (5) Teachers are facilitators of social reciprocity. The findings also suggested recommendations for future research and practice in the field of early childhood education. -

본고는 동양의 수도와 리터러시를 비교한다. 수도는 연마의 과정을 거쳐 깨달음에 이르는 과정이다. 리터러시 또한 자각을 통해 자아의 변화와 성숙을 이룬다. 리터러시는 읽고 이해하고 쓰는 능력이지만 의미를 조금 더 확장해서 정의하면 보다 성숙한 자아로의 이행이라는 측면이 있다. 이러한 점에서 둘은 비교의 대상이 된다. 수도와 리터러시는 내면의 자각이라는 전제 아래 자아의 변환, 자유의 확대, 주체성의 회복, 타인을 향한 실천으로 유사한 결과를 가져온다고 볼 수 있다. 공통점이 있음에도 불구하고 양자는 차이와 한계를...
