시각중복장애학생의 학습매체에 대한 정보를 수집하기 위한 과정은 체계적으로 이루어져야 한다. 본 연구는 한국의 시각중복장애 학생을 위한 한국형 기능적 학습매체평가 도구(K-FLMA)를 개발하고, 이 평가도구를 실제로 적용하는 데 필요한 정보를 제공하는데 목적을 두고 시행되었다. 1995년에 Koenig와 Holbrook이 개발한 기능적 학습매체평가를 한국의 시각중복장애학생 20명에서 실시하여, 한국 실정에 맞도록 K-FLMA로 시각장애교사 3인과 내용 검증을 통하여 개발하였다. K-FLMA는 학생의 일반정보, 감각활용평가, 기능적 학습매체 평가, 기능적 문해프로그램 준비도 평가, 기능적 문해매체 선정, 기능적 학습 매체 평가 결과지의 6개의 점검표 형식으로 만들어졌고, 2명의 시각중복장애학생에게 실제 적용한 사례를 제시하며 K-FLMA를 활용한 평가 적용에 필요한 정보를 제공하였다. 현장 교사들은 이 도구를 사용하여 시각중복장애학생의 학습매체 즉 학생의 주요 감각 수단을 토대로 한 근거리 및 원거리별 학습자료와 교수방법, 그리고 문해매체를 확인할 수 있다. 또한, 문해프로그램에 대한 준비도를 평가하여 학생 개인에 맞는 문해 프로그램을 마련할 수 있다.
To gather informations in the learning media of students with visual impairments and additional disabilities, a systematic process is required. This study was to develop Koeean-Functional Learning Media Assessment (K-FLMA) and present information on the application for determining learning media of students with visual impairments and additional disabilities in Korea. In order to be FLMA which Koenig and Holbrook developed right for the current status of Korea, it made into K-FLMA through and detail verificating with the three special education teachers. Results of this study can be summarized as follows: First, K-FLMA is consisted of checklists such as general information, use of sensory channels, functional learning media, indicators of readiness for functional literacy program, initial selection of functional literacy medium, and summary paper. Second, two case studies are introduced to illustrate appropriate use of K-FLMA checklists. It is obvious that the use of K-FLMA is important to collect data on the learning media of students with visual impairments and additional disabilities. This study aimed at providing the basic assessment information about learning media of students with visual impairments and additional disabilities.
