군사회복지는 생명을 담보로 국가보위 하는 군인ㆍ군무원 및 일정한 기준을 갖춘 제대군인과 그들 가족 의 생활상에서 발생하는 제반문제를 해결하고 안정된 생활과 삶의 질을 향상시키는 것이다. 이러한 군사회 복지는 군인들에게 물질적ㆍ정신적 욕구 충족과 사기고양, 전투력 향상 및 임무수행에 전념할 수 있도록 하는 중요한 요인이다. 한국군에 있어서 군사화복지는 2008년 ｢군인복지기본법｣의 제정 이후 지속적인 발전을 거듭하여 오늘에 이르고 있으나 사회의 복지수준에 비하여 그 수준이 매우 미흡한 실정이다. 이러한 점은 군사회복지에 대 한 전문적인 연구 및 법적, 제도적 장치의 보완을 위한 노력이 미흡했기 때문이다. 따라서 군인복지와 군사 회복지에 대한 개념을 정립하고 군인복지관련 제반 법령을 검토 보완 하며, 군사회복지사 제도 도입 등 제 반 노력을 강구하여 군사회복지가 획기적인 발전이 이루어 질 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.
Military Social Welfare solves the problems of all sorts generated from the life of soldiers-cilvillian workers in the military who sacrifice for defending the state at the cost of lives and discharged soldiers equipped with a certain degree and their family and improves the quality of the life. As these Military Social Welfare get soldiers to fulfill material and emotional needs, which is one of important causes to be able to concentrate on moral elevation, improvement of combat power, and mission accomplishment. The welfare of Korea military has continued to develop up to the current grade after making an evolvable foundation with establishment of Framework Act on Military Welfare on 2008, the grade is insufficient compared to the welfare grade of the society, however.
