The purpose of this study was to identify the subjectivities of pain perception of nursing students. Q-methodology which provides a method of analyzing the subjectivity of each item was used: The 30 nursing students classified 28 selected Q-statements into a normal distribution using a 9-point scale. The collected data was analyzed by the pc-QUANL program. Among the nursing students, three types of subjectivities of pain perception were identified. Type Ⅰ; Adhere to principles type, Type Ⅱ; Pain acceptance through empathy type, Type Ⅲ; Quickly coping type. The results of this study suggest that specific strategies should be developed to promote awareness of pain perception among nursing students.
