This paper purposes to research the value of the basic educational law of
Japan through analysis and comparison between 1947 and 2006 basic educational
law.
1947 basic educational law can be called the beginning of modern Japan
education. In that, there are a frank self-examination to the world war and a
will for national reconstruction. But there, we can feel a little limitation of age.
On the other hand, 2006 basic educational law can be called true modern
educational constitution. In that, there are educational ideals that mixed well by
conservatism and progressivism. Merely, it is a great pity to exclude the word
of 'peace'.
In the basic educational law of Japan, it is remarkable to emphasize the
equality of opportunity for education. It seems to expression of the will for
equality and welfare in education.
Education carried out a role as a base in making powerful economic nation for
Japan. And here, there are strict and correct recognitions to education. The
basic educational law founded by these recognitions is the well-organized
democratic law that is based by national confidence as 21C's big nation.
