The purpose of this study was to examine the relations between elementary school students' empathy and prosocial behaviors on the sport character. The participants of the study were 620 4, 5, and 6th grades(308 males, 312 females) from elementary schools in Gyeongi-do and Incheon city. Data were collected through self-report questionnaires. The results of the study were as follow: First, there were relationships on the sport character, empathy, and prosocial behaviors by sex. Secondly, there were correlations among all the subfactors. Thirdly, sport character affected empathy and prosocial behaviors, and empathy were significantly related to prosocial behaviors. Lastly, elementary school students' empathy acted as a mediator between sport character and prosocial behaviors. That is, elementary school students' self-management of sport character directly and indirectly influenced (through experienced cognitive and emotional empathy) their prosocial behaviors. This study underscores the importance of elementary school students' sport character and empathy in predicting adolescents'prosocial behaviors.
