This paper introduces a case study of lessons for students aspiring to becoming
social workers, one of professions to back up the life of persons with disabilities in the
community, so that the students would realize needs and points of view of persons with
disabilities and other various situations, through field work experience around the
railroad station. The students’ comments at the review session after the lesson
included those such as “I felt inconvenience of disunity and discontinuity between the
railroad station and adjacent commercial facilities because of difference in the
installation policy of equipments such as elevators and textured paving blocks," and
“Through this lesson, I paused to realize the necessity of facilities which are fully
friendly to all users." An educational feedback is being made to the students so that
they, not only simply point out the improvements of the facilities recognized through
the field work, but really consider what roles are requested to social workers to realize
it.
