Today, VR contents, which has been narrowly used for simulation in some fields, have newly emerged
with the advance of technologies. In educational contents, contents using VR has been released and these
contents enhance learning effects by immersion. This research aims to conduct prototyping for developing a
language learning content system that support real-time communication based on immersive VR as a new
method for language learning. For this research, we explore different state-of-the-art cases and recognize
tendencies and limitations through analyzing them according to interactive characteristics. Based on this, developmental strategies are built for a language learning VR content system. In this paper, we propose its
system structure according to this developmental strategies and conduct prototyping VR contents based on a
user scenario. As a result, An immersive VR-based language learning content system proposed in this study
supports active, simultaneous communication and we expect that this system will generate different learning
feedbacks. Currently, we are developing this content system and will present its developmental experience
and user evaluation in future work.
