This study explores the effect of self-enhancement bias, also called positive illusion or positive bias, and avoidant
distractive regulation style on procrastination tendency. As recent studies categorize procrastination into active
procrastination and passive procrastination ("general adult procrastination"), the effects are explored according to
the different procrastination type, Participants (N = 419) of this study, adult males and females who reside in
Seoul and Kyeonggi area, were asked to complete following measurements: Adult Inventory of Procrastination
(AIP), Active Procrastination Scale (APS), Positive Illusion Questionnaire, Emotion Regulation Strategy
Questionnaire, Life Experiences Survey. The result was analyzed using two - way ANCOVA. In the result, the
correlation was found between variables: self-enhancement bias, procrastination type related to different emotional
regulation strategy. The implications of the result and limitations are discussed.
