In this study, we compare the Internet usage characteristics, Internet over-usage and Psychological maladaptation
differences of Chinese students studying in Korean university and Chinese university. Also in cultural adaptation,
we consider the importance of language skills in Chinese students in Korea university as subjects and compare
the difference of psychological maladaptation of the student’s language level. The results are as follow: First, the
results of Internet usage characteristics of Chinese students studying in Korean university and Chinese university
showed that the two groups had significant difference in average using time of a day, places of using, purposes
of using and the Internet usage of leisure time. Second, to ensure the level of Internet over-usage, the Internet
usage problems and some related characteristics were compared with the Chinese students studying in Korean
university and Chinese university. Then, the Chinese students in Korean university have more serious problems of
interpersonal problems, Internet-related compulsive behavior problems, academic slump, affective change, behavior
problems and internet addiction. Third, the Chinese students in Korean university have more psychological
maladaptation than Chinese student in Chinese university. Fourth, As the result, we confirmed the differences in
psychological maladaptation according to the language level. It appeared that the low level language group
experienced more serious problem in all sub-factors of psychological maladaptation. Through this study, we can
verify that Chinese students studying in Korean university have psychological maladaptation and interpersonal
problems which affect their internet over-usage.
