Impairments in on-task behaviors cause the shortage in academical abilities. This study verified the effects of antecedent physical activity using the dramatic play on On-task behaviors of students with developmental disabilities. Five students with developmental disabilities in second grade of high school course at special school participated in this experiment. As for the methodology, this experiment was carried out based on the alternating treatment design of 3 phases: base lines, alternating interventions and replications.
As a result, students with developmental disabilities showed that increase in on-task behaviors compared to the base line level or treatment 2. Also, it was found that on-task behaviors of replication phases maintained at the same or higher than alternating intervention phases. Therefore, current study has an important meaning in that it applies antecedent physical behavior using the dramatic play as a detailed practice to improve on-task behaviors of students with developmental disabilities.
