This study analyzed latent profile composed of self-concept, self-efficacy, and career-related variables(career
maturity, occupational aspiration, the sense of purpose) and examined the factors affecting on latent
profile, the data was used by 1st year-7
th year longitudinal study of Korea. As a result of latent profile, 3
latent profiles appeared: the high career aspiration group, the low career aspiration group, and the low
group. For identifying the factors affecting on each profile, demographic variables(gender, parents
educational level, monthly average income), personal variables(peer relationships, student-teacher
relationships, parents-children relationships, club activities experiences, living abroad experiences, academic
achievement), environmental variables(parental support, educational expenditure, education expectations,
career expectations, social capital, cultural capital) were examined. The results of the study show that boys
rather than girls, and the higher parents educational level, monthly average income, academic achievement,
career expectations and career expectations, the better your chances to be affiliated with the high career
aspiration group. On the other hand, girls rather than boys, and the better peer relationships and
parents-children relationships, the more club activities, the higher parental support and level of cultural
capital, the better your chances to be affiliated with the low career aspiration group. Lastly, latent profiles
of self-concept, self-efficacy, and career decision-related variables and counseling educational intervention for
students' career development were discussed.
