본 연구는 인공와우 수술을 받은 중도청각장애인들의 재활 성공 경험에 대한 연구이다. 연구자 들은 인공와우 수술을 받은 후 K대 병원 청각재활실을 방문한 200명의 환자들 중 MMN 검사 반응 이 있는 사람 중에서 언어듣기능력이 80%가 넘는 10인을 대상으로 심층면담을 실시했다. 수집된 자료는 Krippendorff(2003)가 제안한 내용분석 절차에 따라 분석했다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 재활 준비기의 성공요인은 <희망의 끈 부여잡기>, <속설에 의지하다 과학을 신뢰함>, < 익숙한 관행으 로부터의 탈피> 등으로 나타났고 재활 열심기는 <자기만의 재활방법 개발>, <인공와우와 한몸 되 기> 등으로 나타났다. 재활확대기는 <자기 낙인감에서 벗어나 당당하기>, <한계를 인정하고 뛰어 넘기>로 나타났고 재활완성기는 <이타적 삶의 추구>, <삶의 통합차원에서의 재활> 등으로 나타났 다. 연구 결과를 기초로 재활치료에 가족의 참여, 개인적 특성에 맞는 개별적 재활치료방법 개발을 제언했다.
The purpose of this study is to expose the successful experineces of rehabilitation of cochlear implant users with acquired hearing impairment. Researchers reviewed the results of MMN(Mismatch Negativity) of 200 patients who visited the aural rehabilitation center of K university hospital after cochlear implantation and selected 10 patients who had responses of MMN and exceeded 80% in Speech perception tests and conducted in-depth interviews. Content analysis by Krippendorff(2003) was utilized for data analysis. The results of this study were as follows. Success factors of preparation stage of rehabilitation were “Grabbing a rope of hope”, “Transferring from mysticism to science”, “Escaping from the familiar practice”. Those of enthusiasm stage were “Development of their own unique rehabilitation method”, “Unification with cochlear implant”. Those of enlargement stage were “Escaping from self-stigmatization and being proud”, “Recognizing their own limits and leaping”. Those of completion stage were “Pursuing an altruistic life” “rehabilitation in the integration dimension of life”. Based on these results, we suggested that family be participated in the rehabilitation and a special rehabilitation method for each person be developed.
