This study aims to discuss policy directions and tasks for the establishment of teaching profession courses in teacher education curriculum. To do this, the study analyzed issues of teaching profession courses based on the five dimensions such as curriculum guideline, professors, decision making structure of curriculum, teacher education quality control mechanism, teacher education and selection system. It also confirmed the current situation of teaching profession courses. The characteristics of the teaching profession courses in teacher education curriculum were pointed out as follows: first, the lack of relevance and usefulness in subject; second, the insufficiency of the number of professor, third, the vulnerable stability of the teacher education and selection system and etc. The most controversial issue of teaching profession courses was whether it is desirable to provide relative knowledge regarding the teaching practice or the theory. For the direction and task for teaching profession courses, the following were suggested: reestablishment of the identity of teaching profession courses, to strengthen the link with school and pursuit the integration and ensure the sequency of subject contents, improvement of educational conditions, stabilization of quality management system, restructuring the teacher education and selection system.
