The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of group art therapy
using textile craft on decrease of university students' stress. The objects of
this research were 14 students whose major was art in S university. 7 of
them were in experimental group, and the others were in control group. The
program was conducted 10 times(120 minutes a session) from April, 5th to
June, 7th in 2013. The data were analysed by SPSS 20.0 and Mann-Whitney U
test was conducted, which was Non-parametic statistics to be homogeneous
between two groups. Also, Wilcoxon signed ranks test was accomplished to
compare with before and after test. The results of this study were as
follows: First, there were meaningful differences in stress mitigation. Second,
as the sessions went on, there were positive changes, which were honest
self-expression and supportive interaction. Therefore, it was proven that
group art therapy using textile craft has positive effect on stress mitigation.
