The purpose of this study is to provide basic evidence of how most efficiently to obtain a detailed understanding of parents of student\'s need for support programs in the Investment Priority Area Support Project for Educaitonal Welfare. To accomplish this, 18 parent\'s needs were categorized and a survey was conducted among a selected target group of 935 parents of primary and middle school students in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul. The findings of the study were as follows. First, the parents have a high need for services related to psychological and emotional issues. Second, the study showed that the parents have different needs according to their demographic characteristics. The implications of this study therefore suggest practitioners to adjust their services to correspond to these differences and take into consideration the different needs according to the parents\' demographic characteristics when service plans are established and to obtain a more effective practice.
