This study was aimed at finding the effect of literary activity using transmitted fairly tales on child creativity. To this end, a literary activity program using transmitted fairly tales that improves the creativity of young children was developed and was applied to the experimental group.
The subjects of this Study included a total 40 of young children aged 5 years, 40 of whom belonged to H kindergarten in Pucheon, Gyeonggi-do. Forty young children who were randomly selected for this study were randomly allocated into the experiment group and the control group.
Instruments employed in this study included Integrated creativity test for young children. Pre-pro testing was performed to verify homogeneity and to analyze the experiment result.
The following result was obtained like this; the literary activity of using transmitted fairy tales was effective for improving the creativity of language domain and sub-factors as imagination, fluency, and originality of children. And also identified the effects of the literary activity of using transmitted fairy tales on the creativity of drawing domain and sub-factors as completion, new elements, theme, and unconventionality of children. But the literary activity of using traditional fairy tales didn\'t have influence on the improvement of child creative characteristics as curiosity, independence, run-a-risk, and task-commitment.
In conclusion, this study proved that the literary activity of using transmitted fairy tales effective in improving creative abilities of young children. Therefore child educational institution should contribute to the improvement of creativity through the planning and implementation of more systematical literary activity using transmitted fairy tales.
