본 연구는 임파워먼트와 사회적지지를 중심으로 간질장애인의 사회참여에 영향을 미치는 요인을 파악하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 전국 간질장애인 122명의 자료를 수집하여 기술분석, 상관관계분석, 회 귀분석을 실시하였다. 기술분석을 통해 간질장애인의 일반적 특성과 장애관련특성, 임파워먼트와 사 회적지지의 하위요인과 사회참여를 파악하였다. 상관관계분석을 통해 간질장애인 임파워먼트 및 사회 적지지의 하위요인과 사회참여와의 관계를 파악하였다. 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 간질장애인의 사회참 여에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석한 결과 간질장애인의 임파워먼트가 사회참여의 주요 결정 요인으로 나타났으며 임파워먼트와 사회적지지 하위요인 전체가 정적인 관계를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 간질장애인의 사회참여를 확대시키기 위해서 간질장애인에 대한 임파워먼트증 진과 사회적지지의 확대방안에 대하여 검토하였다.
The purpose of this study is to examine social participation of the epilepsy disabled. Survey was conducted 122 the epilepsy disabled. Collected data were analyzed, using descriptive analysis, correlation analysis and hierarchical regression analysis. This study provided valuable knowledge about empowerment and social support of social participation of the epilepsy disabled. First, Through the descriptive analysis, this study provides general trait(sex, age, level of education, marriage, family income) and disability trait(seizure, disability registration, disability grade, double disability, symptom, medication) of the epilepsy disabled. Second, the results of correlation analysis showed a positive correlation in relationship between empowerment, social support and social participation. This means that the level of empowerment and social support was significant in the social participation of the epilepsy disabled. Third, the results of hierarchical regression analysis tell us that empowerment and social support took effect as the important factor in the social participation. Especially empowerment showed the highest. Accordingly we need various policies to promote empowerment of the epilepsy disabled. These findings suggest the way to expand social support and to strengthen empowerment of the epilepsy disabled, and also indicate the direction of the future studies.
