The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of reading instruction through Graphic Organizer Strategies on reading fluency and comprehension ability of high school students with learning disabilities. To this end, we administered experiments on 10 one-grade students with learning disabilities at M high school located in K city.
The results showed that experimental group improved more in reading fluency and comprehension ability in the post-test, compared to the pre-test than control group up to statistically meaningful point. It seems that students took overall understanding of the text contents after they learnd and used Graphic Organizer Strategies and use it. Specifically, to what extent the selected high school students made progress in reading was investigated to obtain more accurate data on the effect of it, as earlier studies didn't provide sufficient quantitative results about that. And directions for future research were suggested
