The purpose of this study is to develop a music class programs using smartphone applications based on design thinking. The program plan was designed to select, define, and derive ideas through three(Empathize stage, Define stage and Ideate stage) of the five stages of design thinking. At the prototype stage, the app was used to produce campaign songs. At the last stage of the test, the students team-by-team campaign song was presented and feedback was provided to each other. The program consisted of seven weeks and 29 students in the first grade of P middle school in Gyeonggi-do were tested as experimental groups and 29 control groups. Although the results of the class showed confusion about the first-ever class and the limitations of composing app use, the interest and satisfaction of the class as a whole were high.
