After the revision of the provisions related to the Individualized Education Plan in 2007 under the Act on Special Education for Persons with Disabilities, etc., the research is to analyze the literature studies in relation to the Individualized Education Plan from 2008 to 2019 to discuss the research trends and improvement tasks of the individualized education plan of the people with special education by Korean schools (classes). To this end, the IEP-related literature was searched through academic information services and a total of 51 pieces were selected according to the purpose of the research, and the literature was analyzed according to the analysis criteria of the presentation year, research topic, layout type, research type, and research subject. Accordingly, the IEP study of those subject to special education in accordance with local schools (classes) requires an understanding of the diversity of related concepts and the development of IEP by life cycle centered on the development age. It can also be seen that the establishment of a system to support the suitability of IEPs to meet the individual educational needs of persons subject to special education, and the development of relevant data, and detailed studies are needed. To this end, the research method requires empirical research on IEP in educational sites related to qualitative research, and the application of classes, rather than the survey method, and IEP development through pilot operation of special classes in parallel. It is also necessary to support voluntary participation research by special teachers such as IEP and related teacher learning communities.
