Objective : You should constantly check for teeth and gum problems, tooth loss, dry mouth, and tongue movement disorders. This study confirmed the current demand for dental care for stroke patients and described the actual dental treatment of stroke patients and matters to be considered when managing oral hygiene. We aim to provide basic data for research on dental care and oral care for stroke patients. Methods : The subjects of this study were 238 stroke patients and their guardians selected through convenience sampling. The study period was conducted for 13 weeks from January 18 to April 25, 2024. The first draft of the questionnaire for this study was prepared based on an open-ended survey targeting 30 stroke guardians who had dental treatment experience within the past 2 years. Afterwards, the preliminary survey questions were revised a second time through expert advice from two professors majoring in occupational therapy and one professor majoring in dental hygiene. Results : The reason for the dental visits within the last year in the dental requirements of a stroke patient is that the reason for delaying toothache and treatment is inconvenient for dental care, behavioral control treatment experience without a method of treating behavioral control, and inconvenience in dental care panoramic photos And maintaining posture when shooting X -rays and dental care requirements were the highest items of photography in wheelchairs when panoramic photographs and x -rays were taken. Conclusion : In this study, we confirmed the demand for dental care among stroke patients. Accordingly, much additional research will be needed, including dental care manuals for stroke patients and oral care for patients with swallowing disorders. we hope that this study will be used as basic data for dental treatment and research on actual stroke patients.
