This study recognizes the importance of education practicum in the teacher training curriculum, solves current education practicum-related problems, and provides opportunities for pre-service teachers to learn and confirm aptitude. As part of the substantialization of education practicum, various methods of operating the education practicum system and the practical semester system, which is one of the extensions of education practicum, were reviewed. The criteria for reorganization of the education practicum of professionalism, fieldwork, and connectivity were prepared, and research was conducted by literature study, expert council, and FGI. Distributed practice, regular practice, semester-based intensive practice, joint research with field teachers, and an eclectic model were presented as a way to substantiate the education practicum, and the coherence with the reorganization criteria was analyzed. In addition, the support system necessary for the operation of such an education practicum system was sought, and future tasks were derived for the improvement of the substantial education practicum system in the future. Through this study, it is expected that the meaning of education practicum, which has been relatively neglected in the teacher training curriculum, will be reconfirmed, and it will be helpful to strengthen the field teaching competency of pre-service teachers through the internalization of education practicum.
