This study aims to emphasize the importance of AI ethics education along with AI technology to be dealt with in art departments, as AI technology is being utilized in various ways in elementary school curricula and AI technology is expanding into the field of art. To this end, qualitative research was conducted to present ethical situations that will be encountered in the field of art and explore learners’ perceptions of them. Since AI ethics education is important in fostering the ability to make ethical judgments in real sit uations beyond learning ethical principles, it needs to be specifically addressed in the social and con textual contexts that learners will encounter as AI users. Accordingly, this paper conducted semi-structured interviews with five elementary school students to deeply understand their perceptions of AI ethics con cepts as AI users and learners of AI ethics education. Based on this, it was proposed that AI ethics educa tion to be dealt with in art departments should be wary of lenient invasion as they get closer to users of AI technology, should attempt to crack the illusion of perfection as recipients of information from AI, and should begin discussions of confusion toward creative topics as creators. This can be used as basic data for AI ethics education that should be covered in elementary art education.
