[연구 목적] 본 연구의 목적은 교황 프란치스코의 사도적 권고『그리스도는 살아계십니다』(Christus Vivit, 이하 CV)에 나타난 수사학적 전략을 분석하여, 시노드적 교회 이해 안에서 교도권의 권위가 어떻게 ‘함께 말하는 권위’와 ‘동반의 에토스(Ethos of Accompaniment)’로 전환(Transformation)되는 양상을 규명하는 데 있다. [연구 내용] 본 연구에서는 아리스토텔레스의 에토스(Ethos)와 오스틴의 수행발화(Performative utterance) 이론을 분석 기법으로 채택하여 CV 담화 내의 이중 청중 설계, 질문법, 수행발화 장치를 고찰하였다. 특히 CV가 초두의 1인칭 복수형 화법과 직접 말걸기(Direct Address)를 통해 화자와 청자 간의 수직적 거리를 해체하고, 경청을 복음 선포의 본질적 전제로 제도화하며, 교회의 과오에 대한 투명한 인정과 책임 윤리를 통해 신뢰 기반의 에토스를 구축하고 있음을 분석하였다. 또한 이러한 수사적 기제들이 교황과 청년이 함께 식별하고 대화하는 ‘함께 말하는 권위’를 형성하며, 세계청년대회(WYD)라는 실제적 현장에서 어떻게 사목적․교육적으로 구현되는지를 규명하였다. [결론] 본 연구의 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, CV는 엠마오 모델을 사목적 서사로 가시화함으로써 권위자가 아닌 동반자로서의 리더십을 정립하였으며, 상호성 선언을 통해 교황과 청년이 대등한 주체로서 함께 식별하는 ‘함께 말하는 권위’를 구현하였다. 둘째, CV의 수사적 전략과 WYD의 현장성이 결합된 ‘시노드적 실천 모델’은 2027 서울 WYD를 준비하는 한국 가톨릭 교육 현장이 청년을 ‘지금-여기의 공동 주체’로 환대하고, 경청과 대화 중심의 교육적 쇄신을 가속화해야 한다는 실천적 방향성을 제시한다.
[Objective] This study aims to perform a rhetorical analysis of Pope Francis' apostolic exhortation Christus Vivit (CV) in order to investigate how directive authority is ransformed into a shared authority and an ethos of accompaniment within a synodal understanding of the Church, and how these are realized in the context of World Youth Day (WYD). [Contents] To achieve this objective, this research applies Aristotle's concept of ethos and Austin's theory of performative utterances as analytical frameworks to examine the dual-audience structure, interrogative rhetoric, and performative speech acts within the text. The analysis demonstrates how CV reconfigures authority through listening, reciprocity, and communal discernment, thereby constructing a shared authority between Pope and youth, and how these rhetorical strategies are embodied in the pastoral and educational reality of WYD. [Conclusions] The study concludes that CV establishes leadership as accompaniment by rendering the Emmaus model into a pastoral narrative and by fostering a shared authority grounded in mutual discernment between Pope and youth. Furthermore, the combination of CV's rhetorical strategies and the lived experience of WYD offers a synodal model of practice for Catholic education. These findings suggest that the Korean Catholic community preparing for the 2027 Seoul WYD should welcome young people as co-subjects in the present and promote educational renewal centered on listening, dialogue, and accompaniment.
