The purpose of this paper is to examine the current issues regarding transitions to predict the best possible trends in the future. This paper focuses on transitions from secondary education to higher education for students with visual impairment. For the purpose, literature from previous transition research is examined to present current status and issues in transitions. Available research is also analyzed to support author's position on those issues. In addition, possible future trends of transition study are discussed with emphasis on both of settings, secondary education and higher education. Finally, transition programs which can be applied in our educational circumstance is discussed based on the programs implemented in the United States.
