The purpose of the study was to analyze contents of articles in the newspaper and reporting
perspectives about early childhood care from five domestic major newspapers. In addition, another
purpose is to investigate how these articles reflect the status of early childhood care under the
current government(the government President Lee). Results of the study showed that the amount of
articles related early childhood care tended to increase evidently because of announcing the new early
childhood care policy and national elections such as the presidential election. Reporting perspectives of
articles classified into positive, negative, and neutral perspectives. Articles focused on delivering
messages based on real facts took neutral attitude. Most of the negative perspective articles relatively
were written with negative or sensational words on their headlines and voiced out their opinion
critically.
In conclusion, reporting perspectives of the articles about early childhood care should be balanced
at the point of view because they would make the public understand and judge the right situation
of early childhood care.
