The purpose of this study was to investigate casual relationship between implicit beliefs, expectancy-value,
and intention of persistence tasks in elementary school physical education classes. The subjects were 664
elementary school children(boys: 330, girls: 334). The scales used in this study were the implicit belief's scale
for Koreans was designed by Kim(2010), the expectancy-value scale which was made by Park, Kim, and
Lee(2010), and the intention of persistence tasks scale which was made by Park(2010). To analyzing data,
descriptive statistics, t-test, and structure equation were conducted. The result of the study showed that first,
boys showed higher entity beliefs, inner interesting, utility of physical education, importance of physical
education and intention of persistence tasks than those of girls. Second, proposed model whose exogenous
variable was implicity beliefs and endogenous variables were expectancy-value and intention of persistence in
physical education classes was tested as theoretical model. In analysis path analysis, there were significance
casual relation between entity and importance of physical education, and increment beliefs and
expectancy-value, and intention of persistence in physical education classes in boys, and increment beliefs and
expectancy-value, and intention of persistence in physical education classes in girls.
