The purpose of this study is to test how much interpersonal relationship of children
hurt by domestic violence was improved by organizing a program for improving
interpersonal relationship of children hurt by domestic violence and applying it to a
field. To this end, previous studies about behavioral characteristics of interpersonal
relationship of children hurt by domestic violence and literature related to theories of
interpersonal relationship were investigated. And survey on actual state related to
interpersonal relationship of children hurt by domestic violence was conducted and its
results were reflected on the program.
With test tool for interpersonal relationship, children hurt by domestic violence were
measured for before and after of the activity. The subjects were an experimental group
composed of 8 children hurt by domestic violence who lived in shelter center and
control group composed of 8 children hurt by domestic violence who lived in B shelter
center. For this, this study selected A and B shelter center where children hurt by
domestic violence lived under consent from workers in the center and related children.
The experimental group had activity of 12 times in total for 6 weeks. t-test was
conducted on difference between two groups and effect in experimental group focusing
on study questions in data come from the study.
The main findings of the study are as follows.
The experimental group trained with program for interpersonal relationship showed
significantly high records in satisfaction, trust, friendly feeling, self-confidence, sensitiveness,
communication, and understanding than control group. This means that the activity had
effect in interpersonal relationship of children hurt by domestic violence. As a result of
conducting the program for improving interpersonal relationship, overall, interpersonal
relationship of children hurt by domestic violence was significantly improved. Based on the
results, it could be known that the program for improving interpersonal relationship can be
used for facilities and children hurt by domestic violence, there was a positive effect in
interpersonal relationship of children hurt by domestic violence.
