The main purpose of this research is to analyze the concept of curriculum management against the
background of decentralization of school curriculum decision-making in Japan. In this paper, curriculum
management with an emphasis on the education scene is examined, the necessary transition from the Plan-
Do-Check-Action (PDCA) cycle to the Check-Action-Plan-Do (CAPD) cycle is discussed, and hypostasis of
school curriculum innovation is investigated. Special emphasis is given to the important role that curriculum
evaluation has for the improvement of teaching standards through educational practice.
