The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of recognition changes of teachers
and students for school library after carrying out a group activity of reading discussion
upon the effects of school library use. Study subjects were school librarians, teachers and
students at 10 junior high schools in Gyeonggi-do, which were selected as the subjects
of “the support project of teacher-student joint group reading discussion” for “the activation
plan of reading education and school library” implemented by the Ministry of Education,
Science and Technology. A questionnaire survey of study subjects who were participated
in the group activity of reading discussion was carried out over the period from September,
2009 to June, 2010.
