임프란트 식립 시 골이식재를 사용하는 주목적은 이 식된 이식재가 기능을 하는 뼈로 재형성(remodel - ing)되는 것이다. 힘을 받는 치조골의 재형성을 위해 이식재는 수혜부의 뼈와 같이 골개조가 이루져야 하 므로 모든 이식재는 뼈의 구성성분 중 일부 또는 전부 로 구성되어 있다. 이식재의 가공방법에 따라 구성성 분에 차이가 있으므로 임상에서 보다 효율적인 이식 재를 선택하기 위해 이식재의 가공방법과 그에 따른 성분을 파악하는 것은 의미있는 일일 것이다.
