The objective of this study is to identify if transformational leadership in mental health setting has impact on organizational effectiveness and if empowerment provided by an organization has mediating effect to lead to practical implications through the result. For the study a survey was carried out against the people in mental health organization in Seoul and Gyeonggi area. As a result total 140 cases were analyzed and the results are shown as follows:
Firstly, the mental health organization was classified into three groups(mental hospital․clinic, community mental health centers, and community mental rehabilitation centers) to see the difference between characteristics of sociology of population which showed considerable difference in work experiences at current job.
Secondly, it was identified that the higher transformational leadership was recognized for the boss or supervisor of the belonging organization the higher organizational effectiveness and empowerment.
Thirdly, regarding empowerment, transformational leadership was shown to play the role of complete media for organizational effectiveness(job satisfaction, organizational commitment).
According to the result, the necessity of constant provision of empowerment environment in which the people in mental health field should prevent burnout in the field and implications for more qualified social work practice.
